My Story

My name is Kurt Komyati. I spent nearly 10 years in the United States Army as an infantryman and a paratrooper. After years of service I learned how important quality tools are for the people using them. Knives are tools that many people rely on daily. My goal is to be able to make one of the best knives that people can trust when they need them.
In 2015 I graduated from the United States Army Jumpmaster School. I was quickly thrown into a very demanding and highly responsible position as a Jumpmaster for paratroopers. Every Jumpmaster is required to have a fixed blade knife worn around their ankle in case of an emergency. The use of this knife could mean life or death for a paratrooper. After struggling to find a knife that would fit my needs I began looking into making custom knives for the Jumpmaster community. I researched steel, handles, ergonomics and sheaths. In August of 2015 I picked up my first piece of steel and began working on my very own Jumpmaster knife. After finishing my knife I was quickly approached and asked if I could make knives for other Jumpmasters This is when Falcon Knives was born.
In 2018 the military brought me to Alaska. Having a love for the outdoors I began making knives to use while hunting, camping and fishing. The last frontier has taught me that a high quality field knife is an absolute necessity. Today I work full time making knives and love designing custom knives for hunters and fellow outdoorsman.
